mythological islands, surrounded by landscapes of enchanting beauty,
fascinated by the colours and scents of our land, discovering surprisingly
active volcanoes.
From the magic of the islands to the strength of the
largest active volcano in Europe, Mt.
Etna will give you the
breadth of its lunar landscapes and its lush pine forests.
Program
Day1:
Arrival and meeting with the tour guide,
presentation of the travel plan.
Transfer to the hotel in Taormina,
accommodation in the rooms.
Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day2:
Transfer to
Milazzo and boarding to Vulcano. Ascent to the crater top that will surprise
you with its fumaroles and sulphur crystals, and where you will enjoy a spectacular view.
Dinner at the restaurant and night at the hotel.
Day3:
Transfer by hydrofoil to Salina, the green island with
its twin cones.
Ascent to Mt.
Fossa delle Felci, the
island’s nature reserve.
In the late afternoon, return by hydrofoil to
Vulcano. Dinner at restaurant and night in hotel.
Day4:
Boarding to Stromboli. In the afternoon, ascent to
the top of the volcano with guide. Watching of the volcanism’ phenomena of
one of the most famous volcanoes in the world..
Dinner at the restaurant, night in hotel.
N.B.
Access to the trails is subject to regulations set by the Civil Defence,
which can vary depending on the state of the volcano and still provides
accompaniment by the guides authorized for the access to higher zones.
Day5:
Boarding to Milazzo, transfer to the northern slope
of Mt. Etna. Visit of the Alcantara Gorges, basalt rocks magnificently
carved by the river’s water.
Arriving at the refuge (1400m), dinner and overnight
stay.
Day6:
Excursion to Piano Provenzana (1800 m) to admire the
latest lava formations caused by the spectacular
eruption of 2002 ( The Bottoniera).
Tour of Mt.
Nero and visit of the
Hornitos, surrounded by the magnificent scenery of Etna’s Park.
Visit of
the “grotta dei Lamponi” ( Raspberries grotto) (1700m),
a lava tunnel of extraordinary beauty.
Return to the refuge, dinner and overnight stay.
Day7:
Transfer to Piano
Provenzana.
Ascent the volcano by 4x4 until 2900 m. with expert
authorized guide up to the summit. (3350m).Transfer to Taormina. Dinner and night in hotel.
Day8:
Transfer to the
airport.
Caution!
The itinerary can be subjected to change due to
volcanic and climatic conditions.
Technical
Informations
Luggage transport :
by bus/ hydrofoil. Bring with you only the
necessities for the day.
Climate:
high temperature (30° C)- Temperate or cold on Mt. Etna.
Lodging:
hotel (two three-bed rooms).- Refuge.
Meals:
breakfast and dinner in a
restaurant. Lunch: pocket-lunch.
